I made this list upon graduation from college. 100 things I want to accomplish in life. Corny I know. However, when you have life in front of you and absolutely no direction it seems like a good idea. My thought process was if I accomplish at least 2 things on the list a year, I would be able to do everything before I kick the bucket. God willing.
I am not about to write the list out here. I doubt very much you are interested in such a thing. By the way, these goals were pretty wide in spectrum from getting my belly button pierced to getting married. Variety in importance is essential for this kind of list.
One of my goals was to run a marathon or do a triathlon. Why? Very few people have the drive or focus to do something so rigorous. Also, I just think it sounds cool to say, “I ran a marathon.” When someone says that I am filled with a small sense of awe. Therefore, I want to be able to say it.
I started training at the beginning of 2009 to do it January 2010. It didn’t work out because of health issues. So, I’m going to try again. I have great hopes.
I share this story not to brag. I encourage you to do the same thing. What things are you striving for in life? Make a list of 50 goals if 100 is too many. After the list is complete, figure out what you can accomplish by this Christmas and let me know what you did. Remember nothing is frivolous on this list. Wouldn’t the world be a better place if people stopped floating through life and truly focused on what was important to them?
